Bright sunlight? Holy smokes. Looks more like a moonlight.
blackdog: It does doesn't it - probably a tad underexposed if I am honest!
Beautiful scenery with April snow.
blackdog: Thank you Makoto ;o)
Magic!!
blackdog: Thanks Bill ;o)
Being there, now thats a hard trick to master!
blackdog: The more I take the luckier I get ;o) (Gary Player I think?)
Delightful shot Mike
blackdog: Thanks Tracy ;o)
This is beautiful, Mike.
blackdog: Thank you mate ;o)
a moment of magic. is this close to your home
blackdog: Thanks Jude - yes the same village ;o)
You captured a magical moment here. Well done!
blackdog: Thanks Richard.
A lovely moment in time!
Nice composition too...
blackdog: Hi Stephen - thanks for that ;o)
That is the trick...to be at the right place at the right time, you master that very well and I am glad you underexposed this one....who needs sun, moon, if you can get it like this.....
blackdog: Thanks Astrid and a likey too! You are being especially kind to me today ;o)
Isn't spring a grand time for snow, well caught.
blackdog: Indeed it is, but I am ready for a nice warm spell now, even if it does mean lots of grass cutting ;o)
awesome weather photo, I like the ambiance, I can feel the weather
blackdog: Thanks Chantal ;o)
This would be one reason why it would be okay for it to always be winter, Mike...well, almost! I love the feel of this.
blackdog: I liked this snow as it came overnight, the sun was out and it went the following day before it had got all slushy. But all year, no thanks - I like my seasons, variety is the spice ;o)
What a wonderful timing, doesn't matter if intended or not, but you show us once again wht Henri Cartier Bresson meant when he said "Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again."
blackdog: Hi Patrick - I have to own up and say I was about to take the shot, but I will accept the HCB compliment anyway ;o)
or ... On a snowy moonlit night and total stillness. richard
blackdog: Beginning to sound like a Xmas carol is brewing ;o)
I like it the way it is, great timing too.
blackdog: Thanks Nigel - luck more than anything was just about to take a photo, and the bit of breeze came. all counts though ;o)
And who would think that it's spring Mike!
blackdog: Who indeed, but it does seem to have brightened up a bit now ;o)
Yet another fabulous image, Mike. I will ignore the title. Just a great composition with a great atmosphere. Captured snowflakes usually look good too. I can't decide about the crop to to left. I know it was probably what was framed but I wonder if it might have improved if the tops of the trees could have been included.
blackdog: Thanks Chad. Had another look - it is full frame. It was a split second decision to take the photo and so composition was secondary. However I was as far back as I could get and using a 12mm lens so could have only included more by tilting it upwards and then dealing with the parallax. all that said it might be stronger with a bit cropped off the lhs.
i love the snow in the pictures. excellent picture. fantastico !! good shot. very nice scenary, very rommantic place.
blackdog: Thanks Ale - from the village where we live ;o)
I like it!
blackdog: Thanks Mine ;o)
Nice stuff Mike. i like alot
stunning capture Mick
Absolute magic!
This is a magical shot Mike. Love the composition and the stretched effect from the wide angle lens, the shadows on the wall, the white dots of snow falling of the branches - perfect. It was worth going out just for this one!
Ingrid
Oh that's lovely stuff Mike: the true essence of these spring snows we've been having. Excellent composition!
Is the blackdog lightening up? How much did you tinker with this one to get the winter wonderland look?
