My sis said she had 10cm of snow, beautiful use of the IR filter!!
blackdog: Hi Patrick - yes it was a bit of a shock to wake up to, but a good opportunity for photographs as there was no wind.
Love this composition.
blackdog: Thanks Mary - couldn't resist the fresh snow ;o)
While this is a beautiful photograph, I must say I am glad not to have to deal with cold snaps--seasonal or unseasonal.
blackdog: Didn't stray far from the house so was able to pop back into the warm as soon as I was fed up with the white landscape ;o) Florida??? Looking forward to lots of Art Deco details ;o)
SNOW?????? BUT, Mike, it has put more light into your image than I have seen in a long time.
blackdog: Yes Ginnie - we were as surprised as you, but rushed out before it got walked on and got a few good shots. This one is perhaps a little too cheerful but you cannot appreciate the dark without the light so I decided to keep the one I did with the posts all black to myself ;o)
Very nice Mike: your infra red does this justice
blackdog: Yes a bit too nice perhaps ;o)
I saw at the news you had snow, I am glad you went out early (no footprints yet) to capture the beauty of it, I am amazed by the serenety and thanks for the information of the IR filter. Outstanding picture.
blackdog: Thanks Astrid - yes we were out early - no wind. If it is windy the IR wouldn't work too well, as anything moving in the breeze would be a blur on acount of the slow shutter speed.
I love that title, however it does trivialise a seriously good photograph. I think that perspective is the world's gift to photography. It is such a reminder of the physics of our existence and we interpret it as dynamic and exciting to the eye. The red filter certainly seems to have enhanced the scene.
blackdog: Yes - double edged title but the pull of the double entendre was too great ;o) The red certainly upped the contrast and did something strange to the fence too. Perspective? Work of the devil, mate ;o)
Superb shot Mike. I love the perspective enhanced by the furrows!
blackdog: Thanks Richard - the filter helped bring out the subtle tones in the snow.
Awesome B&W shot
blackdog: Thanks Chantal ;o)
Groaning under the weight of the pun, but a good pic nontheless. We had snow here too and Ella made her fist snowball. She really liked it.
blackdog: Aw cummon - i thought that was pretty good ;o) Glad Ella had a good time with the changed landscape - just wait until she is old enough to stuff it down your collar ;o)
Lovely Mike - Abbie was out taking shots of the snow yesterday so I'll have to post them on her blog in the next couple of days.
blackdog: Yes much more fun for children than adults - you will have to let me know when you put them up ;o)
It was a lovely sight to wake upto Mike. Merry Christmas
blackdog: Merry Christmas indeed - never around when you need it most ;o)
Snow in April is a whole different concept from our winter snows in the second half of the 20th century. I can cope with this ... snow that falls in the night and has melted away by mid afternoon. I can cope with this image as well. My April snow pics will be posted later ... probably in mid summer. ha ha! What summer? richard
blackdog: Yes we might have to wait forever if we have to wait for summer ;o)
Very nice B&W. I love this picture.
blackdog: Thank you Ale ;o)
Wow this is stunning.
blackdog: Thanks Scarlet ;o)
Gives it a magical feel Mike. I grabbed a few up at Clent but I was working. Nothing as good as this!
blackdog: Thanks Bill ;o)
I like the silvery effect the IR has given.
blackdog: Thanks Nigel - yes the fence was a mildewed green which it turned white to good effect.
Oi there's more white than black, are you sure you havn't inverted it????
blackdog: Oh quite sure David - just not feeling my usual gloomy self. The fence and bark of the trees was a mildewed green colour which the filter turned white to good effect.
blackdog: Thanks Paul ;o)
oh my Mike thats a beauty for sure, the filter really makes the image something really special well done
blackdog: Thanks for that Tim - yes the fence and bark of the trees was a mildewed green colour which the filter turned white to good effect.
Our drive never looked so good! Interesting effect on the snow with the filter. Nice one.
Ingrid
blackdog: Indded. Thanks you Ingrid ;o) Printed out your B&W yet?
Terrific capture, very dramatic looking. Love the snow, but of course we don't get any, so maybe that is why.
blackdog: First we have had for sometime too - stayed just long enough to be photographed, the best kind of snow ;o)
beautiful
and well composed
blackdog: Thank you Dr ;o)
I feel the cold here... I am longing for spirng.
blackdog: After all your tropical holidays I am not surprised. Warming up here at last so I hope it is with you too ;o)
C'est magnifique
blackdog: Je vous remercie ;o)
I wonder... do the trees jump the fences at night... and return in the morning... I know, my mind is on too much imagination today...
classic and great photo mike... |
