I love the reflections and the very dark door leading to the orcus.
blackdog: Thanks Philine, all these were taken on the same day in Venice.

Ridiculous though it might seem these chairs appear to be displaying body language
blackdog: They do indeed, if I had titled this separately it would have been "Conversation Piece"
Fascinating shadow-play Mike. Chairs are funny things really.
blackdog: Yes, if benches are a metaphor for waiting, chairs seem to be a stand in or trace of the people who have sat in them. More "what has been" than "what is to come" probably because they can be moved and rearranged to suit and then rarely put back. I recall you doing a series on chairs some time ago.
One has turned it's back to the other though temporarily I believe.
blackdog: Yes they made friends again later in the day. ;o)
I have the feeling this is where naughty boys had to sit before going in to see the Headmaster smile
blackdog: Chairs!!! Luxury. We were made to stand and woebetide you if you were caught sitting on the floor!
Chairs like this were once commonplace and singularly uncomfortable as I recall. These two seem to have fallen out
blackdog: Yes not made for long term sitting. I remember squirming on one of these at a dinner party.

I'll take those two home
blackdog: You might struggle to get them on the plane!
